All Honda cylinder heads feature rocker style valve actuation. This is a great system however it does generate considerable force on the valve guide due to the "rocking" motion of the valve.

When replacing the valve guides in a Honda cylinder head it is tempting to purchase "race" guides which are manufactured from bronze alloy. However bronze alloy guides in Honda applications are only suitable for low mileage racing use, as due to the "rocking" motion of the valve (as mentioned above) they will wear out prematurely.

Our solution to this problem in street performance applications is a guide which performs better than the factory guide but gives enough durability to reside in a street driven vehicle.
