When fitting a supercharger here in the CPL Racing workshop we set the tension of the belt by checking boost pressure on the dyno. When these superchargers are fitted by customers or tuning shops without dynos, a common problem with this model of vehicle is for the belt to be over-tightened, thereby putting unnecessary stress on the supercharger nose, which in turn puts additional pressure on other components in the supercharger kit. In extreme cases we have seen this cause the inlet manifold to crack. To help prevent this problem CPL Racing have developed a supercharger brace which provides support to the supercharger nose should the belt be over-tightened.
